HELP PLEASE!!

Post by DarranWS on Wed May 05, 2010 2:15 pm

What a week so far, got a stone through the n/side headlamp glass , it didn't smash just a perfect hole! Is it fairly easy to replace the glass as my friend at VW as one available.
Today just leaving my driveway when posty tries to shimmy around me and knees my o/side indicator lens into slithers. Would have tried to blame him but I think he will be off work for weeks! Can these be changed easily too ? Think I will stay at home and just clean her tomorrow!!

Is that the front indicator or the wing indicator?

If it's a PF, then the lens swap is pretty simple. The main thing to watch for is make sure that you don't lose any of the screws from the headlight assembly down the front of the bumper.

I don't have the under belly tray on mine so it didn't matter when i dropped the screws (about a hundred times) but it is a bit fiddley, if i remember rightly it's the bottom screws under the headlight, behind the plasic trim that are awkward because the bumper prevents the screwdriver going in square. Undoing is easyer than putting it back.

Have fun

Oh Europarts for indicator lens if you don't mind non genuine. 55 notes from dealer i think i payed

As stated those 2 screws are a bu gg er. Use a blob of Blu Tac on the end of your screw driver to stick the screw too so you can insert it and start tightening it up.
